Starting your journey to better mental health should be a simple, supportive, and stress-free process. At River House Wellness, we are committed to making the admissions process as smooth as possible so that you can focus on what truly matters; your healing and wellness.
From your first call to your time in treatment and beyond, our team will guide you through every step. We work closely with you to determine the best level of care, help you navigate insurance, and create a personalized treatment plan designed for lasting success.
What to Expect During Admissions
We understand that no two individuals are the same. Your experience with mental health is personal, and your treatment plan should be too. When you reach out to us, here’s what you can expect:
1. Free and Confidential Assessment
Our admissions team will begin by learning about you. We’ll ask about your symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals. This consultation is completely confidential and allows us to recommend the right level of care.
2. Insurance and Payment Guidance
Navigating insurance coverage for mental health treatment can be complicated, but you don’t have to do it alone. We work with most major providers and will handle the verification process for you. If insurance doesn’t cover everything, we’ll explore flexible payment options to ensure you get the care you need.
3. Personalized Treatment Plan
At River House Wellness, we recognize that every individual has unique needs, which is why we develop personalized treatment plans during the admissions process. Our team utilizes a variety of assessments to determine the most effective approach for your care, including:
- Medical and Health Assessment: A full evaluation of physical health to address any underlying medical concerns.
- Psychiatric Evaluation: A comprehensive review of mental health history, symptoms, and medication needs.
- Biopsychosocial and Diagnostic Evaluation: A holistic analysis of biological, psychological, and social factors that impact mental health.
- Functional Testing: An assessment of cognitive and emotional functioning to tailor treatment strategies.
- Nutritional Analysis: A review of dietary habits and nutritional needs to support overall wellness.
While we offer multiple levels of care, most clients begin in our residential treatment program, where they benefit from 24/7 medical supervision, comfortable accommodations, and a supportive healing environment. Starting treatment at this level leads to higher success rates and improved long-term outcomes.
4. Seamless Admission & Arrival
When you’re ready to begin treatment, we’ll coordinate everything to ensure a smooth transition. From travel arrangements to packing guidance, we’ll support you every step of the way. Upon arrival, our compassionate team will help you settle in, introduce you to the facility, and guide you through the first steps of your treatment journey.
How Long Will I Stay at River House Wellness?
The length of stay varies based on individual needs. On average, clients in our residential program stay between 30 and 60 days. However, individuals with severe mental health conditions or co-occurring substance use disorders may require up to 90 days to fully stabilize and develop coping skills for long-term recovery.
Following residential treatment, many clients transition to our intensive outpatient program (IOP) or general outpatient services, where they continue receiving structured care while reintegrating into daily life. Our support doesn’t stop after treatment as we provide lifelong alumni resources and a supportive community to ensure continued success in recovery.
No matter your diagnosis, ongoing care and connection are essential for lasting wellness. Our Alumni Program offers:
- Exclusive online resources
- Staff outreach and follow-ups
- Recovery-focused events and activities
By staying engaged with our community, clients can maintain their progress and continue building a fulfilling life beyond treatment.

We understand that cost can be a concern when seeking mental health treatment. At River House Wellness, we work with most major insurance providers to help cover the cost of care. Our admissions team will verify your insurance benefits and walk you through your coverage options before you commit to treatment.
Common Payment Options Include:
- Private Insurance: We accept most PPO and commercial insurance plans. Our team will handle the verification process for you.
- Out-of-Pocket Payments: We offer flexible payment plans for those paying without insurance.
- Financing Options: We partner with financing companies that specialize in healthcare loans.
- Employee Assistance Programs (EAP): If your employer offers an EAP, it may help cover part of your treatment.
How Long Am I Covered?
The length of coverage depends on your insurance provider and policy. Many insurance plans cover a portion of residential treatment for 30 to 60 days, with additional support available for outpatient care. Some policies offer extended coverage for individuals with severe mental health conditions.
Our admissions specialists will advocate on your behalf to maximize coverage and minimize out-of-pocket costs. We’ll work closely with your provider to ensure you receive the highest level of care possible without unnecessary financial stress.
